Stop Searching for the Secret: How to Connect with Your Higher Self and Finally Move Forward

A Simple Spiritual Framework That Actually Works (Even If You're Just Getting Started)

In a powerful Reiki session with a gifted practitioner in Miami, I experienced something that forever changed how I understand spiritual growth. What began as a vision of entering the sun led me to encounter a version of God that looked like a wise, Dumbledore-like wizard. But what unfolded next taught me more than any book or teacher ever had. It revealed the truth about the ego, the higher mind, and the illusion of a “spiritual secret” we’re all chasing.

The Illusion of the Secret

Most of us begin our spiritual journey searching for a “secret.”

  • The secret to becoming wealthy.

  • The secret to healing our bodies.

  • The secret to finally feeling happy or enlightened.

Whether through meditation, Reiki, or self-help, we chase the idea that there’s one hidden truth that will change everything. In my vision, I was shown a massive medieval door covered in cartoon question marks. The being — my higher mind — told me that behind this door was a secret no one in the spiritual world knew. Not even him.

That moment was a turning point.

The real “secret” is this:
There is no secret.

There’s only intention and consistent action.
No sudden downloads. No instant magic formula.
Just alignment and showing up — again and again.

Understanding the Higher Mind

The wise guide I met wasn’t God in the ultimate sense. He was my higher mind — the calm, knowing part of me that exists beyond thought.

  • The higher mind doesn’t think.

  • It doesn’t analyze.

  • It simply knows.

That’s how I realized something important:
Even the higher mind — the deepest part of your inner wisdom — doesn’t “know” what’s behind the door. Because what’s behind the door is beyond even the mind. It’s the Infinite. The unknowable aspect of God that cannot be captured, not even by the most enlightened parts of you.

The Ego is Thought. The Distance is Thinking.

This is where things get really practical.

The ego thrives on thought. It needs energy to survive — and that energy comes from your constant thinking, worrying, and deciding. Every time you hesitate, second-guess, or ruminate, you’re feeding the ego.

But the higher self doesn’t need to think. It simply reacts — with peace, clarity, and immediate knowing.

Here’s the key insight:

The more time you spend thinking, the more distance you create between yourself and your higher mind.

Want to get closer to your higher self?
Start shortening the gap between decision and action.

That gap — that space filled with doubt and overthinking — is the ego. And when you remove it, what’s left is pure alignment.

The Mirror and the Door

In the end, I understood that the higher self is like a mirror.

The closer you get to it, the more you realize it’s just you.
The ego creates the illusion that your higher self is separate. That there’s a “you” and a “higher version of you.” But really, it’s one and the same.

You’ve just been standing too far from the mirror.

And the door?
It’s the threshold between mind and the Infinite.
Even the higher mind can’t step through it, because beyond that door isn’t something you can know.

It’s something you become.

Living Without the Secret

There’s nothing to wait for.
No grand cosmic answer coming one day.

Just you, already knowing.
Just your higher mind, already aligned.
Just the Infinite, smiling quietly behind a door that was never meant to open — because the journey is the secret.
